Back in St. Paul, I was ready for a fall
The air smelled of rain, there were voices in the walls
But still we talked of love

We backed away and talked ourselves into thinking we had enough

Days became weeks, and weeks became years
We settled into trenches, protected from our fears
But there was one train ride
Through a wide countryside

Are like lies what is true
